Marin Notches Fourth SBC Player of the Week Honor

NEW ORLEANS, La. - For the second-straight week, and the fourth time this season, Veronica Marin was named as the Sun Belt Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced this afternoon.

The senior had a stellar weekend against ULM and Louisiana, helping the Trojans notch its first back-to-back sweep in conference play since 2015. Marin hit a career-high .643 against ULM to go with nine kills and she followed her performance against the Warhakws with a nine-block outing against the Ragin' Cajuns, adding eight kills too. She has now collected eight or more kills in nine straight matches.

Marin, a product of Tulcea, Romania, leads the country in total blocks (137) and ranks second in blocks per set (1.69). Her efforts have helped the team rank second in the NCAA for total blocks and 11th for blocks per set.

Little Rock's Team is 13-8 overall on the year, 5-3 in conference play, with eight contests left to play. The Trojans will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 20 at Arkansas State.
