Trojans Down Arkansas State in Five Sets, Lindberg Notches Triple-Double

JONESBORO, Ark. – Propelled by Taylor Lindberg's third triple-double and a team-high 15 kills from Veronica Marin, the Little Rock Trojans downed the Arkansas State Red Wolves in five sets. It was the first Trojan win against the Red Wolves since 2014, which was also a victory celebrated in Jonesboro, and Little Rock's team is now 14-8 overall, 6-3 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Arkansas State scored the first point of the match, but Little Rock went on an early run to distance themselves 7-4. Later in the set, Little Rock pulled away again, this time notching six straight points to make it 19-8 before the Red Wolves tallied a similar run. The Trojans would end the first frame with a 4-0 run, claiming the opening set 25-17.

Arkansas State took the second and third sets as Little Rock was never able to get into a consistent rhythm and stuff the Red Wolves offensive attack.

Things heated up in the fourth and fifth sets as the Trojans took the fourth 28-26 and claimed the victory 15-12 in the final set. Little Rock fought through seven lead changes and 19 score ties in the second to last set and three lead changes and five ties in the fifth set. Diana Giordani came up huge for the Trojans in the concluding set with multiple digs to keep rallies alive and seal the Trojan victory.
