LITTLE ROCK – Led by 17 kills from
Veronica Marin, Little Rock volleyball notched its fourth straight win with a 3-1 performance at Georgia Southern Friday night. The Trojans improved to 15-8 overall and 7-3 in Sun Belt Conference play.
The Eagles took the first set 26-24, a tightly contested frame that featured 16 ties and six lead changes, but the Trojans would win the remaining sets by 20 total points, surrendering the lead only twice and letting the score stay tied just five more times for the duration of the match.
With tonight's win, Little Rock is now 7-0 all-time against Georgia Southern.
Inside the Stats
- Marin's total kills (17) was one shy of tying her season-high, 18, and is the sixth time this season she's hit over .600.
- Carol Barbosa had a career night against the Eagles, having career-high outputs in kills (12), points (16) and blocks (7).
- Barbosa also hit .500 and has hit .500 or better in three of the last four matches.
- Taylor Lindberg dished out 35 helpers in the match, handing out at least 30 helpers for the sixth time this season and the first time since tallying 35 against Troy.
- Diana Giordani recorded 16 digs and has logged at least 14 in the past three straight matches.
