LITTLE ROCK – The Little Rock Trojans (16-10, 8-6) swept UT Arlington 3-0 Thursday night, answering Tuesday's loss with a strong bounce back victory and avenging its loss to the Mavericks suffered early in conference play.
Maritza Mesa and
Taylor Lindberg led the Trojan charge, Mesa recording a career-high hitting percentage (.727) and Lindberg moving to second on the all-time assist list (2,928) on the night.
Little Rock took the first frame 25-23, shutting down a UTA comeback after the Mavericks staved off four match-points. The second set featured the teams jockeying through six ties, but the Trojans took control at 11-10 and would go on a 7-2 run to propel themselves to a 25-15 win. The final frame was similar to the second, seeing eight ties, but Little Rock would wrestle the lead away twice to seal the match's finale 25-17.
Little Rock's Team took the match by a collective 20 points and moved to 9-2 this season in three set outings, having also now topped UTA in straight sets four times since their first meeting in 1995.

- Lindberg's 19 assists pushed her to 2,928 career assists, having handed out 15 or more helpers in 17 straight matches.
- Eight Trojans, Mesa, Lindberg, Veronica Marin and Laura Jansen all registered a game-high eight kills and eight Trojans collected at least one point off kills.
- Diana Giordani recorded her first kill of the year, the fourth of her career, on a setting fake that caught the Mavericks unaware.
- Veronica Marin added five blocks to her NCAA-leading total for the season, sitting at 161 for the year and moving to third all-time for a Trojan in a single-season.
