LITTLE ROCK – Three home games at the Jack Stephens Center the first week of December mark a key stretch of the Trojans' 2018-19 non-conference basketball season.
2018-19 Little Rock Basketball Schedule
The three games will be played in the span of a week, beginning with Sam Houston State on Saturday, December 1, followed by Bradley on Tuesday, December 4 and the annual rivalry game with Central Arkansas on Saturday, December 8.
The Trojans and Bearkats will meet in Little Rock's Homecoming game for the 2018-19 season and will be the first game of a men's and women's doubleheader that Saturday, tipping at 3 p.m. The game marks the return trip of the home-and-home series between the two, beginning with Sam Houston's 57-55 victory in Huntsville, Texas last season.
Little Rock and Sam Houston have met six times previously with each team winning three games in the series. The Trojans are 2-1 all-time against the Bearkats in Little Rock as Sam Houston State will make its first trip to the capital city since 1996, a game won by the Trojans 94-64.
Little Rock will then welcome Bradley to the Jack Stephens Center for the return trip of their home-and-home series for a 6:30 p.m. tip on December 4. The Braves were in control from the opening tip in last season's game in Peoria, Illinois, handing the Trojans an 86-46 loss.
This is just the third time the two teams will meet, and the first in Little Rock, with the Trojans defeating the Braves 64-54 at the South Point Hoops Holiday Classic in Las Vegas in 2014.
The week of basketball then concludes with the rivalry showdown against Central Arkansas on Saturday, December 8, getting underway at 5:30 p.m. as the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader. The Trojans and Bears split the two-game series last season as Little Rock rallied for a 71-65 victory at the Jack before UCA took a 69-54 decision in Conway.
A rivalry series that dates back to 1930, the Trojans and Bears have met 35 times with UCA holding a 24-11 edge in the all-time series. Little Rock had won 11-straight games between the two, dating back to the 1981-82 season, until UCA's victory in Conway last season, its first over the Trojans since 1974.
