OPENING SERVE
Little Rock's non-conference tournament schedule continues this weekend with the shortest trip of the 2018 season, heading up I-40 to Conway for the Central Arkansas Invitational September 6-8. The Trojans open up the tournament against host UCA at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 6 in volleyball's installment of the Governor's I-40 Showdown with three possible points on the line.
 
The Trojans then face another in-state rival in Arkansas-Pine

FAST START
Little Rock posted one of the best starts in program history in 2018, as with the 3-1 win over Samford on August 31, the Trojans started the season 5-0, matching the 1998 team's program record. During the first five matches of the season,

Little Rock won 12-straight sets, setting a new program-best, while winning 15 of its first 16 sets of the season, equaling the 1998 teams' record through the first five matches.
 
RECORD WATCH
With more impressive performances over the weekend, a pair of Trojan seniors continue to move up the Little Rock record books. Over the three matches in Oxford, Mississippi, Taylor Lindberg posted a team-best 64 assists, upping her career total to 2,407. She currently ranks fourth all-time in program history and is just 25 assists shy of matching third-place Giuliana De Francesco's 2,432 career helpers from 2008-09.
 
Sydnee Martin registered 56 combined digs in Little Rock's matches against Samford, Southern Miss and Ole Miss over the weekend, giving her 1,096 in a Trojan uniform. Currently ranking sixth all-time, Martin remains well within striking distance of a number of former Trojans, sitting 60 digs out of cracking the top-five and is just 200 shy of moving into the number two spot all-time.
 
ALL-TOURNAMENT HONORS FOR MARIN
Senior Veronica Marin put together an impressive weekend for Little Rock, serving as a balanced force for the Trojans. In the three matches at the Rebel Invitational, Marin posted 27 kills with a .390 hitting percentage, 17 total blocks and four services, being named to the All-Tournament team. On the year, Marin ranks third on the team in kills (52) while boasting the team's highest hitting percentage (.436) and is second in blocks (29).

Little Rock closes out its non-conference tournament schedule next weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana, taking part in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic September 14-15. The Trojans open up with a pair of games on Friday, September 14, beginning with host Tulane before facing Clemson. Little Rock's stay in the Big Easy finishes on Saturday, September 15, taking on Villanova.
