Carol Barbosa Receives All-Sun Belt Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock senior Carol Barbosa was recognized by the Sun Belt Conference Tuesday as she was named to the league's all-conference team, receiving second team honors.

The honor comes as the senior concluded her final collegiate season ranking fifth in the Sun Belt with 3.59 kills per game and fifth with 4.09 points per game. She ranks 100th nationally in both categories.

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Barbosa was a dominant force in the Sun Belt this year and led the Trojan offense. She put down a career-high 24 kills in a 3-2 win over Georgia State while also recording a career-high 18 digs in that match, one of her eight double-doubles on the year. That match, and the following sweep over Georgia Southern, led to Barbosa receiving Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Barbosa wrapped up her career in Little Rock ranking 10th in the Trojan record books in the rally scoring era with 2.87 career kills per set and a .261 career hitting percentage.
