Walker Announces Addition of Ben Coupet Jr.

LITTLE ROCK – Little Rock head basketball coach Darrell Walker has announced the addition of transfer guard Ben Coupet Jr. to the Trojan roster. Coupet transfers to Little Rock from UNLV and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

"I'm excited to add Ben to our roster and the athleticism he brings," Walker said. "He's very versatile, long and is highly regarded for his defensive skills. He is someone that we'll look to to take shots in key moments and can also handle the point guard duties when needed."

Coupet Jr. arrives in Little Rock after spending three seasons at UNLV, utilizing his redshirt season in 2017-18. Coupet played in 18 games for the Runnin' Rebels with a pair of starts, scoring 25 points and grabbing 27 rebounds in 125 total minutes. He was also efficient from the free throw line, knocking down nine of his 11 attempts in Las Vegas.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Coupet Jr. graduated from Simeon Career Academy where he averaged 10 points and four rebounds per game, en route to being named a first team all-league selection. He was part of a Wolverine team that captured the Illinois state title in 2013 and a city championship in 2016 and was a three star recruit from ESPN, ranked as the number 39 small forward in his class.

With the addition of Coupet Jr., Walker's 2019-20 Trojan roster is complete as the team has reported to Little Rock with classes getting underway Monday. Workouts continue until official practices begin in October, leading into the start of the 2019-20 season in early November.

Little Rock's non-conference schedule will be released in the coming days as season tickets for the 2019-20 season are available by contacting the Trojan ticket office at (501) 565-8257.
