LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Central Arkansas had not visited the Jack Stephens Center since 2007 until Saturday night and now they remember why. Little Rock remained perfect against UCA at home by claiming a 3-1 win, netting three points for the Trojans in the Governor's I-40 Showdown.
Little Rock was led by
Laura Jansen's 17 kills while
Carol Barbosa added 15 kills as the Trojans (2-7) have now won two straight matches.

Nathalia Vigineski dished out 28 assists and
Janae Thurston fell one kill short of double-digit kills, not that it mattered. Her ninth kill of the evening was the slam that clinched match point for the Trojans, sealing the third loss in Little Rock in three tries for Central Arkansas (5-5).
Behind the Box Score
- Laura Jansen led the Trojans with five kills in the opening set. Her crucial kill came at the 18-16 mark where she stopped UCA from creeping close to Little Rock.
- The opening set was ended with a block assist by Anna Hurlburt and Carol Barbosa.
- Little Rock registered more blocks (4-3) than UCA in the second set. Carol Barbosa led the Trojans with three block assists in the set.
- The third set saw the most point swings with seven tie scores and five lead changes.
- The Trojans trailed in the third set, 12-11, before a 5-0 run capped by one of Nathalia Vigineski's two aces in the match gave Little Rock a 15-12 lead. The Trojans would not relinquish that lead the remainder of the set or the match.
- Little Rock led the entire fourth set. Laura Jansen registered three kills within the first seven points for the Trojans. She finished with seven kills in the fourth set alone.
- Janae Thurston posted three kills in the frame, all coming late. Her third, and final, kill of the set clinched the match for Little Rock.

- Little Rock is now 5-5 all-time against Central Arkansas. The Trojans remain undefeated (3-0) against UCA when playing in Little Rock.
- Laura Jansen was named to the UCA Invitational All-Tournament Team.
- This marks the first full win for Little Rock against UCA in the 2019-20 Governor's I-40 Showdown. Soccer finished in a tie, 2-2. UCA currently leads overall, 5.5-4.5.
- This marks the second consecutive match Laura Jansen has posted 15-plus kills.
- Carol Barbosa's .448 hitting percentage marked a season-high for the senior.
- Maile Levy recorded a season-high 14 digs. It marked her first career match with 10-plus digs.
