LITTLE ROCK - With the bulk of the experience revealed by head coach Neil Erisman and assistant coach Javier Maldonado, the freshmen are now the focus for the last two days of the Little Rock wrestling roster showcase. Today, the nine Trojans from the Midwest will be highlighted: Joseph Bianchi, Aidan Campbell, Jayden Carson, Jaylen Carson, Will Edgar, Steve Elwell, Kyle Prewitt, Korbin Riedel, and Conner Ward.

33407Joseph Bianchi (Two Rivers, Wis.)

The younger brother of Paul Bianchi, Joseph was a multi-year varsity letter winner as well as MVP for Two Rivers high school, while also running cross country and track. Bianchi also competed for Askren Wrestling Academy, earning All-American honors.

Erisman on Bianchi - "Joey is a unique and tough athlete. He has a high level feel for wrestling and is expected to do some great things."

33413Aidan Campbell (Maize, Kan.)

Campbell has had early wrestling success at Maize High School, as a four-time varsity letter winner. He has also been a major face in the state of Kansas as a four-time high school state medalist.

Erisman on Campbell - "Aidan is a hard-nose, tough competitor. Has a great attitude and brings a lot of value to our team. Excited for his future."

34499Jayden Carson (St. Louis, Mo.)

The first of the Carson twins, Jayden was a Missouri State medalist in high school. Along with prep wrestling, he also played football and competed on the mat for the St. Louis Warrior club program.

Erisman on Jayden Carson - "Coach Javi and I are pumped to have Jayden on our squad. He is fun, athletic and tough. It will be fun to watch him progress through the season."

34500Jaylen Carson (St. Louis, Mo.)

The other half of the Carson twins, Jaylen was also a Missouri State medalist in high school as a four-year varsity award winner, also earning the Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Like his brother, he competed for the St. Louis Warrior club program.

Erisman on Jaylen Carson - "Like his brother, we are excited to have Jaylen. He brings a lot of components to our team and we are anxiously waiting to see how he competes."

33412Will Edgar (O'Fallon, Ill.)

Edgar made his name as a four-year varsity starter at Christian Brothers College High School in Crete Coeur, Missouri. During his high school career, Edgar also finished as a fifth-place medalist at the Missouri State championship twice.

Erisman on Edgar - "Will comes from a great program and has a ton of skill. We are excited to watch him grow into his body. He can do some really good things if he continues to develop."

33417Steve Elwell (Knob Noster, Mo.)

A two-time Missouri State champion for Knob Noster high school, Elwell's impressive resume also continues into club. He wrestled for the Eierman Elite Wrestling Club, where he was a National champion, six-time National finalist, and two-time State champion. This was also on top of playing football and baseball in high school.

Erisman on Elwell - "Stevie is a big athletic talent and has the capability to do really great things on the mat. He needs to continue to grow and develop his discipline and he will be able to win a lot of matches for us."

33404Kyle Prewitt (Union, Mo.)

Prewitt was crowned as the 2019 Missouri high school state champion, representing Christian Brothers College High School. A three-time state medalist, he also was an Academic All-State member. Outside of school, Prewitt wrestled for the club Eierman Elite.

Erisman on Prewitt - "We are pumped up about Kyle. He is very unassuming and crazy talented. Can't wait to watch him compete."

33419Korbin Riedel (Tonganoxie, Kan.)

Riedel was not only the Kansas State champion in high school, but also honored as the 4A Wrestler of the Year. A two-time state finalist and four-time state medalist, Riedel played football all four years as an All-State running back.

Erisman on Riedel - "Korbin has the ability to come in and make a statement right away with our program. We can't wait to see what he can do."

33408Conner Ward (Shawnee, Kan.)

The very first wrestler to commit to Little Rock, Ward is a four-time state finalist and 2018 Kansas state champion for Mill Valley High School. Not only did he notch a prep record of 153-16 with 31 pins and 20 technical falls, Ward also represented team Kansas at the 2017 and 2018 Junior Nationals.

Erisman on Ward - "Conner has quickly made himself a name here at Little Rock. He embodies what it takes to wrestle for us. We are expecting him to earn a leadership role this year."

We're almost through - continue to follow along as we introduce the final wrestlers on the inaugural roster tomorrow, and make sure to mark your calendars for the grand opening of the Greg L. Hatcher Wrestling Center next Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m.
