Six Wrestlers to Complete Little Rock Wrestling Roster

LITTLE ROCK - It's the final day of our four-part inaugural roster reveal, and head coach Neil Erisman, along with assistant coach Javier Maldonado, has six Trojan wrestlers left to present. Today, the remaining Little Rock freshmen from the southern parts of the country finally get their turn in the spotlight: Drake Barbee, Tyler Brennan, Marcus Castillo, Trent Dooley, Miles Santiago, and Tristan Tadeo.

33410Drake Barbee (Blackwell, Okla.)

Barbee has shown power and skill, honored as the High School Wrestler of the Year in Oklahoma while at Blackwell High School as well as also helping his football team win the high school State championship.

Erisman on Barbee - "Drake is an unbelievable kid with a great attitude. He has shown he is resilient and tough, which is just the type that we want on our team here at Little Rock."

33409Tyler Brennan (Frisco, Texas)

A familiar name in Texas, Brennan is two-time state champion for Frisco High School. He also was awarded preseason National champion honors during his prep career.

Erisman on Brennan - "Tyler has a great diverse background in MMA, and has progressed drastically over the last few years. We are very excited about him and where he is capable of going."

33401Marcus Castillo (Tucson, Ariz.)

Castillo is a three-time Arizona State champion as well as record-holder for Mountain View High School, along with collecting 2017 NHSCA Academic All-American honors. Castillo also wrestled for the club Tucson Cyclones, and was the 2018 folkstyle National runner-up.

Erisman on Castillo - "Marcus is very exciting to watch wrestle. Coach Javi and I have already watched him jump levels since he has been here, and we can't wait to see what he does in the future."

33405Trent Dooley (Allen, Texas)

Dooley comes to Little Rock with multiple accolades: he is a two-time National champion, two-time Texas State champion, four-time All-American, and four-year letter winner for Allen High School, to name a few.

Erisman on Dooley - "Trent comes to us from a national powerhouse program and brings a great attitude with him. He instantly elevates our standards because of his own standards. We can't wait to watch him compete."

34501Miles Santiago (Sunset, La.)

A two-time heavyweight Louisiana State champion for Teurlings Catholic high school, Santiago helped his team to not just one, but three State championships, while also playing football in high school.

Erisman on Santiago - "Miles is big, athletic and has a great personality. We love having Miles here and if he continues to improve, he will be able to to do great things at Little Rock."

33403Tristan Tadeo (Plano, Texas)

Tadeo is more of a dark horse on the wrestling scene, joining Little Rock after being a two-time Texas State finalist for Arlington Martin High School.

Erisman on Tadeo - "We have really enjoyed watching Tristan grow since he has been here. Physically and mentally he has already jumped levels. His future is bright here with the Trojans."

With these six,  the first-ever full roster of the Little Rock Trojans wrestling team is complete and marked down in history. Want to meet these gentlemen in person? Mark your calendars for the grand opening of the Greg L. Hatcher Wrestling Center next Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m.
