TROY, Ala. – Little Rock was stymied in its conference opener Friday evening as the Trojans dropped a straight sets decision to Troy as the Sun Belt Conference opened league play this weekend.
Little Rock (2-11, 0-1) fell by set scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-16. Troy (12-2, 2-0) was led by Cheyenne Hayes' 14 kills while Little Rock was paced by
Carol Barbosa's nine kills and 13 digs while
Janae Thurston hit .333 in the match.

- Little Rock was within just one point of Troy in the first set at 13-12 before Troy went on a 9-1 run.
- Little Rock would respond with a run of its own to cut the Troy lead to five (23-18) before the host Trojans clinched the set.
- Little Rock never held the lead in the second set as Troy led by as much as eight at 17-9 before pushing forward with the 25-14 set win.
- Little Rock's defense was its strongest in the third set, holding Troy to a match-low .118 hitting percentage.
