BOSTON, Ma. - Little Rock sophomore guard
Markquis Nowell has been added to the 2019-20 Lou Henson Player of the Year Midseason Watch List, announced by CollegeInsider.com. The Lou Henson Award is given annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.

Nowell has been the floor general for Little Rock in 2019-20, helping lead the Trojans to an 11-7 overall record and a 5-2 mark in Sun Belt play, sitting tied for first in the league standings. A two-time Sun Belt Player of the Week, Nowell ranks second in the league in scoring at 18.8 points per game while leading the conference in steals (2.5) and sitting second in free throw percentage (86.2%), three point field goal percentage (40.9%) and three pointers made (2.9).
The Harlem, New York native has scored in double figures in 12 of his 16 games played, eclipsing the 20-point mark nine times. Nowell is averaging 36.6 minutes per game for the Trojans and ranks among the national top-100 in 15 statistical categories.
Nowell is one of just two Sun Belt Conference players among the watch list, joined by Coastal Carolina's Devante Jones. The 2019-20 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced in April 2020 in Atlanta, Georgia - site of the men's Division I NCAA Basketball Championship.
