Series History
- Little Rock leads the all-time series over Coastal Carolina, 5-0.
- This will be the sixth meeting between the Trojans and the Chanticleers in a series that dates back just a few years to the 2016-17 season.
- The Trojans have held Coastal to under 50 points in all but one of the prior meetings.
Five Things to Know
- Sun Belt Separation Starts Wednesday
Yes, it may be early, but we enter this week with six teams (including Little Rock) tied atop the Sun Belt standings with a 3-1 league mark. The sorting of the standings begins with Wednesday's game at the Jack Stephens Center and will continue throughout the week.
- Both Coaches Approaching Milestones
When Little Rock hosts Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, both head coaches will be working to reach another milestone in their career. Little Rock's Joe Foley has 794 career wins and is closing in on win No. 800 while Coastal Carolina's Jaida Williams needs one more win to reach 100 career wins as a head coach.
- Sharing is Caring
Wednesday's game between Little Rock and Coastal Carolina could trend high scoring and, if it does, that may not be because of deliberative plays. Little Rock's defense is holding opponents to a 43.9% assisted shot mark this year, a percentage that ranks 11th in the nation. Meanwhile, Coastal Carolina is averaging an assist on 41.2% of its baskets, ranking 345th nationally. Additionally, the Chants are averaging 10.4 assists per game this season, ranking 298th in the nation.
- The Place Where No One Wants to Play
And who could blame them? Little Rock begins home conference play this week and the Trojans look to continue their domination at the Jack. The last time Little Rock lost a home Sun Belt game came back on Jan. 7, 2016 with a 65-58 decision to Louisiana. Since then, the Trojans have not lost a home conference game and have now won 38 straight home Sun Belt games and look to continue that streak with this game.
- Three Points Might Be a Long Shot
Heading into this game, Little Rock has done an admirable job at defending the 3-point shot with Trojan opponents scoring just 17.9 percent of their points from long range. Limiting that number has Little Rock ranked fifth in the nation.
