Five Things to Know
- 20 Years of Greatness
Little Rock will be honoring the best of the best from the past 20 years as its 20th Anniversary Team, now fully unveiled at LRTrojans.com, will be recognized during halftime of Saturday's game.
- Early On, Trojans Can Shoot
It's early on in the Sun Belt schedule but through five games, Little Rock is proving to be an offensive threat in conference play. The Trojans are shooting .437 (115 of 263) in league games this season, ranking second in the conference.
- While Limiting Opponents
At the same time, teams are finding it hard to get to the basket against the Trojans. Little Rock is allowing just 58.2 ppg in conference play, a mark that also ranks second in the Sun Belt.
- A Game of Dishes
Saturday's outcome may be determined by dishes. No, we're not talking about china patterns or place settings. So far this season, Little Rock is among the nation's best at preventing assists as Trojan opponents are getting an assist on just 44.5 percent of their made baskets, a mark that ranks 14th in the nation. On the other hand, Arkansas State's success relies on assists. The Red Wolves have a 69.8 assist percentage (123 assists on 176 made baskets) in their seven wins this season and their 14.4 assists per game in league play ranks second in the conference.
- Consistent Force
If you think you're seeing a lot of Kyra Collier - and that's a thought that should trouble Little Rock opponents - then you are not wrong. Not only has she played the full 40 minutes in several games this season, she enters this week's action leading the Sun Belt and ranking eighth nationally in minutes played per game (38.15).
