Five Things to Know
- Throwback Thursday
Across the sideline Thursday will be a face familiar to the older Trojan fans. ULM Head Coach Brooks Donald Williams served on the Little Rock staff prior to Joe Foley's tenure as an assistant coach from 2000-03.
- Early On, Trojans Can Shoot
It's early on in the Sun Belt schedule but through five games, Little Rock is proving to be an offensive threat in conference play. The Trojans are shooting .451 (142 of 315) in league games this season, ranking second in the conference.
- While Limiting Opponents
At the same time, teams are finding it hard to get to the basket against the Trojans. Little Rock is allowing just 58.17 ppg in conference play, a mark that also ranks second in the Sun Belt.
- A Game of Dishes
Thursday's outcome may be determined by dishes. No, we're not talking about china patterns or place settings. So far this season, Little Rock is among the nation's best at preventing assists as Trojan opponents are getting an assist on just 44.3 percent of their made baskets, a mark that ranks 10th in the nation. That does not bode well for ULM, which ranks 329th in the nation with an average of 9.6 assists per game.
- Free Throws, Free Points
Little Rock opponents seem to like to give the Trojans free opportunities to score. Little Rock enters this game scoring 20.5 percent of its points from the free throw line. While that may not seem like much, it ranks 62nd in the nation. ULM scores in a similar fashion, registering 20.9 percent of its points from the charity stripe. That number ranks the Warhawks 49th in the nation.
