Five Things to Know
- Early On, Trojans Can Shoot
It's early on in the Sun Belt schedule but through five games, Little Rock is proving to be an offensive threat in conference play. The Trojans are shooting .453 (168 of 371) in league games this season, ranking second in the conference.
- While Limiting Opponents
At the same time, teams are finding it hard to get to the basket against the Trojans. Little Rock is allowing just 57.0 ppg in conference play, a mark that also ranks second in the Sun Belt.
- Damaging Duo
When Little Rock is successful this season, it is because of the damage that the duo of Kyra Collier and Teal Battle can inflect on teams. When those two players combine to score 30 points or more this season, the Trojans have a 5-3 mark. .
- I'd Like to Report a Theft
Little Rock's Kyra Collier has developed sticky fingers lately. The Trojan senior has registered four steals in four of her last six games, pushing her to 35 steals on the season and 20 steals in conference games. In conference play, her 2.86 steals per game leads the Sun Belt and has to leave Sun Belt opponents concerned anytime she comes near the ball. Overall, she is averaging 1.94 steals per game, ranking third in the league.
- Sharing is Caring
Little Rock's Sydney Chastain and Tori Lasker like to share with their teammates. Both are among the league's best in assist-to-turnover ratio and assists in general. In assist-to-turnover ratio, Chastain leads the league and ranks 34th nationally with a 2.27 mark while Lasker's 1.23 mark ranks fifth in the Sun Belt and 247th overall. But a closer look at the numbers in conference play shows that both players are giving the ball to teammates on a regular basis. Lasker's 4.71 assists per game in league play ranks fourth among Sun Belt players while Chastain ranks seventh, averaging 3.86 assists per game.
