Nicole Medlin registered 10 kills and Little Rock claimed its first win of the season with a 3-1 rivalry victory at Arkansas State Friday night in Jonesboro.

The turning point came in the pivotal third set. With the match even at 1-1 and Little Rock trailing 23-19, the Trojans went on a 5-1 run to pull even at 24-24. That run featured two kills by Medlin, a kill by Jansen and a crucial kill by
Lauren Shea on A-State's set point as Shea made her first collegiate appearance.

Little Rock (1-4, 1-3 Sun Belt) spoiled the season- and home-opener for the Red Wolves (0-1, 0-1), claiming the win over their hosts behind Jansen's 20 kills and career-high matching 22 digs.

Leigh Maher led all players with 24 digs and the Trojans refused to submit, even going to extra points in a set for the fourth time this season.

Arkansas State was led by Madison Brown's 14 kills.
