LITTLE ROCK - Little Rock Athletics has released the second episode of The Turnaround, a three-part mini-documentary chronicling the Trojans' dramatic improvement in the 2019-20 season. The three part series was filmed, edited and produced by the Little Rock Athletic Communications department, involving interviews with student-athletes, coaches and support personnel.
The Turnaround - Episode Two: Defying the Odds
The Turnaround - Episode One: New Beginnings
Picked 11th in the preseason Sun Belt Conference poll, Little Rock had one of the best improvements in all of Division I basketball, upping its win total from 10 to 21 and clinching the regular season conference title. Episode two focuses on the Trojans' run to a Sun Belt title, beginning with
Markquis Nowell's break-through game at ULM in the conference opener. It follows the Trojans through one of the best starts in program history, the two heated rivalry games with Arkansas State, and culminating with Little Rock clinching the regular season league title on February 29, 2020 against Louisiana.
The final episode of the series will focus on the disappointment of having its NCAA title hopes dashed in an instant with the cancellation of the postseason due to the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by the motivation it provided Little Rock to defend its crown. Episode three will be released early next week as the Trojans get set to begin their #UnfinishedBusiness with the start of the 2020-21 season on Wednesday in Louisville, Kentucky.
