Five Things to Know
- Finally, Some Game Action
Little Rock will finally tip-off the 2020-21 season Saturday as the Trojans host Rice with a 2 p.m. start time slated. It will have been 262 days since the last time the Trojans took the court when the ball gets tipped.
- Welcome to The Rock
Little Rock will be welcoming eight newcomers to the roster this season. While printed game programs will not be available due to COVID policies, fans are encouraged to download the LR Trojans app and check out the updated roster to get to know the new faces.
- It's a Homecoming
One of the new faces in Maroon and Silver isn't new to Little Rock at all. Mississippi State transfer Bre'Amber Scott graduated from Little Rock Central High and is excited to return home to the 501 to represent Little Rock's Team.
- Lucky 13?
A win over Rice Saturday would mark Little Rock's 13th win in a season opener during Joe Foley's tenure. The Trojans are currently 12-5 in season openers since Foley took over as head coach. Can Little Rock find lucky No. 13?
- Little Rock vs. Experience
Saturday's game against Rice will be a challenge for Little Rock against a 20-plus win team from last season but also it will be a battle against experience. The Owls return 10 letterwinners from last year's Conference USA Championship team, including four starters. Even more than that, Rice already has a game under its belt. The Owls hosted Houston Baptist on Wednesday and has already seen game action while the Trojans will be making their season debut Saturday.
