Five Things to Know
- Schoolhouse Rock
Thursday's game marks the third consecutive year Little Rock is playing a "School Day" game, one held during a school day where local students can take part in educational activities prior to the basketball game. But the results so far have been a mixed bag. In the first School Day game in 2018, Little Rock dropped a 74-61 decision to Tulsa. However, the Trojans rebounded last year to beat Georgia Southern, 80-51, in the School Day game.
- And It's Going to Rock
That is because Little Rock is expecting its largest School Day crowd ever with 37 schools and over 2,300 students participating.
- They Could Witness History
Not only will the kids get a great educational experience pregame and be able to watch Trojans Basketball, they could witness history. Little Rock Head Coach Joe Foley has 799 career wins and needs one more to become just the sixth active Division I head coach to record 800 career wins.
- I'd Like to Report a Theft
Little Rock's Kyra Collier has developed sticky fingers lately. The Trojan senior has registered four steals in six of her last 10 games, pushing her to 51 steals on the season and 36 steals in conference games. In conference play, her 3.27 steals per game leads the Sun Belt and has to leave Sun Belt opponents concerned anytime she comes near the ball. Overall, she is averaging 2.32 steals per game, ranking second in the league. That incredible tear through the Sun Belt with her staggering steal numbers has to leave Trojan opponents where the ball went.
- Doing So at a Record Rate
Collier is also among the best at thievery. Her current average this season of 2.3 steals per game would rank fourth in Little Rock history in the single-season charts for the Trojans while her average of 2.0 steals over her career currently ranks second in Trojan history. The single season school record is 2.9 steals per game averaged by Shanika Butler during 2009-10 season while the career record of 2.1 steals per game was set by Caroline Jones (1981-85).
