Little Rock Falls at Troy Thursday

TROY, Ala. – Teal Battle scored 24 points and Kyra Collier registered a double-double but Troy used second chance points and a rebounding advantage to propel the Alabama Trojans to a 77-59 decision over Little Rock Thursday evening.
 
Troy (21-4, 12-2 Sun Belt) scored 26 second chance points and out-rebounded Little Rock 67-43 to push itself towards the win despite shooting just 35.7 percent from the field in a back-and-forth game that featured four ties and four lead changes.
 
Little Rock (10-15, 8-6) forced 15 turnovers out of Troy courtesy of seven steals, scoring 16 points off those turnovers. Kiana Anderson and Nicole Hemphill led the way for the Arkansas Trojans, nabbing two steals each.
 
Battle's 24 points left her one shy of matching her career high while scoring six of her points at the free throw line as she was just one of two Little Rock players to reach the charity stripe, as Little Rock was called for 18 fouls to Troy's 12.
 
Collier scored 16 points and grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds in the contest, her third double-double of the season and seventh of her career. She dished out three assists but did was prevented from grabbing a steal for the first time this season.
 
Troy, currently tied for the league lead alongside Coastal Carolina, was just 30 of 84 from the field for a 35.7 percentage while shooting just 23.1 percent (3-for-13) but was 82.4 percent from the charity stripe after making 17 attempts (making 14), eight more attempts than Little Rock.
 
Tori Lasker finished the game with four assists, marking the 11th time in the last 13 games she has registered four or more assists in a game.
 
Little Rock now heads to Mobile to face South Alabama on Saturday at 3 p.m.
