LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock will take a five-game winning streak and put it – along with a chance for a milestone win – on the line Saturday when the Trojans play at Georgia State.
Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT at GSU Sports Arena in Atlanta. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ while Trey Schaap will have the call on the Little Rock Trojans Radio Network (Flagship: 920AM The Sports Animal).
Series History
- This will be the 13th meeting between the Trojans and the Panthers in a series that dates back to Georgia State joining the Sun Belt Conference for the 2014-15 season.
- Little Rock has won the last 11 meetings in the series after dropping the initial contest.
- The Trojans have won the last three meetings in Atlanta.
Five Things to Know
- Milestone on Tap?
Joe Foley is the GOAT – this is a fact that is not in dispute. He could add to his legendary status Saturday if he can lead the Trojans to a victory as that would mark his 800th career victory as a head coach. Reaching such a milestone would make him just the sixth active coach in Division I and 16th coach overall in NCAA history to record 800 career wins.
- Streak on the Line
More than just a milestone win, the Trojans enter Atlanta red, err, maroon hot. Having won five straight and seven of their last eight, Little Rock has stormed into a tie for second and within a game of league-leading Troy.
- Eastern Favor
The Trojans have won nine consecutive regular season games in the Eastern Time Zone entering Thursday's contest. That stretch dates back to Nov. 19, 2016 when Little Rock fell at Fordham, 65-43, in a Preseason WNIT game held in the Bronx, N.Y. The last Eastern Time Zone loss overall came in the 2018 NCAA Tournament in a 91-49 loss at No. 3 seed Florida State.
- I'd Like to Report a Theft
Little Rock's Kyra Collier has developed sticky fingers lately. The Trojan senior has registered four steals in six of her last nine games, pushing her to 48 steals on the season and 33 steals in conference games. In conference play, her 3.30 steals per game leads the Sun Belt and has to leave Sun Belt opponents concerned anytime she comes near the ball. Overall, she is averaging 2.29 steals per game, ranking second in the league. That incredible tear through the Sun Belt with her staggering steal numbers has to leave Trojan opponents where the ball went.
- Among the Nation's Best
Collier is among the nation's best at swiping the ball away from opposing teams as she enters this game ranked 66th nationally with 2.29 steals per game and 64th nationally with 48 thefts overall.
