COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Little Rock's men scored all their points in the jumps while the women scored in the throws as the Trojans competed at the Charlie Thomas Invitational at Texas A&M Saturday.
The men scored in two jumps events to finish 10
th while the women finished 14
th after scoring in the weight throw.
Jared Schneider registered the seventh-best triple jump in school history with a mark of 45-11.25 (14.00m), placing sixth in the competition. He would also finish 12
th in the long jump with a mark of 21-11.5 (6.69m).
Christian Matamoros also scored for the Trojans as he finished in a four-way tie for fourth in the high jump with a mark of 6-6.25 (1.99m).
On the women's side,
Mia Dunning scored for the Trojans as her weight throw of 52-6.5 (16.01m) placed her seventh.
Also in women's field action,
Tricia Pierce placed 19
th in the pole vault with a height of 11-1 (3.38m) while
Lauren Hurrell reached the same height to record the second-best pole vault mark in school history (Pierce already holds the school record).
In the long jump,
Jaelyn Tucker recorded the fifth-best mark in school history with a jump of 17-7.5 (5.37m) to finish 12
th.
On the track,
Helensia Green ran 57.05 in the 400m to register the sixth-fastest time in school history while another sixth-fastest time in school history came in the 60m hurdles with
Breya Clark ran 9.78.
On the men's side,
Colby Swecker ran 1:55.93 to finish 12
th in the 800m while
Carter Reynolds finished 16
th in the mile with a time of 4:21.53.
Little Rock's appearance in the Charlie Thomas Invitational wrapped up the regular season for the Trojans. Next up will be the Sun Belt Indoor Conference Championships on Feb. 24-25 in Birmingham, Alabama.
