Five Things to Know
- Critical Contest
Thursday's game between Little Rock and Troy is pivotal for both teams. Little Rock returns home trying to keep ahold of fourth place in the league standings with a chance to host the opening two rounds while Troy is a half-game behind Coastal Carolina with a game in hand.
- Senior Swan Song
With two games left at the Jack Stephens Center this year, this could potentially mark the final two games that Kyra Collier and Sydney Chastain will play in their careers in Little Rock. More than just sending the senior class out on a high note, the Trojans will be fighting to keep them around for at least one more home game with a chance to host the opening two rounds of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
- Damaging Duo
When Little Rock is successful this season, it is because of the damage that the duo of Kyra Collier and Teal Battle can inflect on teams. When those two players combine to score 30 points or more this season, the Trojans have a 7-3 mark.
- Battle for Blocks
Entering Saturday's game, Little Rock ranks 16th in the nation by allowing just a 5.5% opponent block rate. But that will be tested mightily Thursday as Troy enters the contest with one of the tallest rosters in the Sun Belt and is averaging 3.3 blocks per game, ranking 161st nationally and fourth in the league.
- Recognizing the GOAT
The term "GOAT" can be tossed around easily but when it comes to talking about Joe Foley, it's a no brainer. That is why Little Rock will be recognizing the legendary coach's latest achievement in a pregame ceremony Thursday honoring Foley claiming his 800th career win. That is an achievement only 16 coaches in women's basketball on any level has achieved.
