LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Bre'Amber Scott, a 5-foot-11 guard from Little Rock Central High School that originally began her collegiate career at Mississippi State, has returned home and is now a Trojan with the ability to compete immediately after the NCAA granted her a waiver.
The decision was recently announced by the national organization and allows Scott to not have to spend a year sitting out.
"I am both excited and thankful the NCAA granted Bre'Amber her waiver to compete immediately," Little Rock Head Women's Basketball Coach
Joe Foley said. "She will make an immediate impact on our program and we are glad that she is able to return home, attend her hometown university and represent for her hometown team."
Scott spent two years at Mississippi State where she averaged 10.8 minutes per game while averaging 4.9 points per game with a 7.1 ppg average in 2018-19, when she played in all but one game as the Bulldogs reached the Elite Eight. In that, her sophomore, season she reached double-digit scoring in eight games including 20 points against Arkansas in a 101-70 win over the Razorbacks in the 2018 Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship Game, Mississippi State's first SEC Tournament title.
Her career high came earlier that year when she scored 21 points against Louisiana while shooting over 77% from the floor including over 83% from 3-point range.
Throughout her two seasons at Mississippi State, she played in 58 games and shot 45.7% from the field (90-for-197) with a 37% mark from 3-point range (27 of 73). Overall she was 70-for-100 from the charity stripe including an 82.7% mark her last season in Starkville. She also tallied 40 assists and 33 steals with 73 rebounds at Mississippi State.
Scott originally joined Little Rock's Team in the Spring 2020 semester.
