Service Aces Not Enough in Loss to South Alabama

Box Score LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock served up seven aces and Laura Jansen recorded her 25^th career double-double but the Trojans came up short in a straight-set decision against South Alabama in front of 305 fans at the Jack Stephens Center Saturday night.
 
Jansen's 12 kills led the Trojans and she added 10 digs to her effort but Little Rock (10-6, 1-3 Sun Belt) hit just .115 as a team. Set scores were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18.
 
Nicole Medlin was the most efficient hitter for the Trojans, hitting .385 and putting down five kills with no errors while Little Rock served up seven aces in the match, three off the hand of Laure Jansen. Laura Jansen added two while Livia Kimura and Amna Osmankovic each contributed one.
 
South Alabama used an efficient outside attack led by Carissa Bradford's 18 kills while Maddie Soboleski added 13 kills. Kennedy Wallace was effective with a game-high .455 percentage, putting down six kills.
 
Little Rock completes its three-match homestand Tuesday when Arkansas State visits the Jack Stephens Center. That match will be $2 Tuesday with $2 tickets and $2 hot dogs available for fans.
