Trojans Return Home to Host UAPB Tuesday

Little Rock kicks off three-game homestand

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock returns home to the Jack Stephens Center for a busy week starting by hosting Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday evening.

Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. with ESPN+ carrying a live broadcast of the in-state battle. Trey Schaap will have the call on 920AM The Sports Animal.

Series History
UAPB: LR leads, 10-9 | Last game: LR won, 67-50, on 12/9/2005 in Little Rock, Ark. | Streak: Won 3

Five Things to Know
  1. Home, Sweet, Homestand
Tuesday's tilt against UAPB kicks off a three-game homestand for the Trojans as Little Rock will welcome UAPB, Memphis and Auburn to the Jack Stephens Center over the next nine days.
  2. Powerful Dubs
Little Rock's 56-40 win over Vanderbilt on Nov. 12 is nothing new for the Trojans. That is because it is the 12th time that Little Rock's Team has claimed a win over a Power 5 program and making Vandy the fourth Power 5 program to lose to the Trojans on multiple occasions, joining the likes of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.
  3. Mustang Sali
In just her second game wearing a Little Rock uniform, Sali Kourouma was on fire for the Trojans. Kourouma scored 30 points and led Little Rock to a 56-40 win at Vanderbilt on Nov. 12. That performance marked the first 30-point scoring outing for a Trojan player since Kyra Collier in 2018 and Kourouma was the first Sun Belt player to score 30-or-more points against a Division I opponent this season.
  4. Death. Taxes. Joe Foley's Defense.
If there's one thing coaches don't want to face, it's Joe Foley's defense. If there's two things they don't want to face, it's Joe Foley's defense twice in the same weekend. That is because Little Rock and Joe Foley have set the standard when it comes to the Trojans defensive efforts, ranking in the top two of the conference in 10 of the past 11 years in scoring defense while ranking in the top 25 nationally in scoring defense in nine of past 11 years.
  5. Not Her First Action in the Natural State
After two seasons at New Mexico and in the Mountain West Conference, Azaria Robinson has joined Little Rock's Team. But when she returns to the court, it won't be her first action in the Natural State. As a member of the Lobos, Robinson played at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 17, 2020 and saw six minutes of action. She'll see the Golden Lions once more on Nov. 16 when UAPB visits the Jack Stephens Center.
