Laura Jansen Named First Team All-Sun Belt for Second Straight Year

Becomes sixth Little Rock player to receive first team honors in back-to-back years

NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock senior outside hitter Laura Jansen was recognized by the Sun Belt Conference Wednesday as she was named to the league's First Team All-Conference scrolls for the second consecutive year.

One of the most prolific offensive players in the Sun Belt Conference and the country, Jansen finished the regular season ranked 37th nationally in points scored (459.5) and 71st nationally in kills per set (3.85), ranking second in the Sun Belt in both categories. More than just an offensive threat, she ranks 12th in the league with 317 total digs.

Twice this season Jansen was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week and she recorded 17 double-doubles this season. Jansen posted a career-high 31 kills at Central Arkansas, tallied a career-high six blocks at Georgia State and served up a season-high four aces at Georgia State as well.

She is the sixth Little Rock player to receive multiple All-Sun Belt Conference First Team honors and the first since Edina Selimovic in 2015-16. This marks the 30th all-time first team All-Sun Belt honor a Little Rock player has been awarded as well as the 55th all-conference honor overall.

Jansen leads the Trojans into the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament Thursday evening against Troy. First serve is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
