Five Things to Know
- There's a First Time for Everything
Sunday's game will be the first time the Trojans will play at Bud Walton Arena in a game that has been in the making for decades. This marks the third straight year the two teams will play but all the previous meetings have occurred in central Arkansas. Earlier this season, on Dec. 4, Little Rock's men made their first appearance at Bud Walton Arena.
- Don't Expect a Tennis Match
Because there likely won't be a lot of back and forth with the ball. Arkansas enters the game ranked fifth in the nation as they average 11.4 turnovers per game while the Trojans are only giving the ball up 15.1 time per game on average, ranking 87th nationally.
- Trojans Can Secure a Winning Record with a Win
In SEC play this year, at least. This game will mark the fourth of five games for the Trojans against Southeastern Conference competition and Little Rock's team already has two wins on the board with dubs over Auburn and Vanderbilt. A win over Arkansas Sunday would secure a winning record against SEC competition this season with a home tilt against Alabama still to come on Dec. 16.
- It Wouldn't Be A First
That is if a dub is in the cards for the Trojans this weekend. A win Saturday would mark Little Rock's second win in Fayetteville this season. On August 28, Little Rock Volleyball made the trip up to the Hill and brought down a 3-2 win over the Hogs at Barnhill Arena.
- Little Rock Stands Alone...
...as the only non-P5 team so far this season to record multiple wins over Southeastern Conference opponents. While some other teams have managed to claim wins against the competitive league, Little Rock is the only team to have found repeated success against the SEC. Two wins just means more than one. Coincidentally, the two wins came over Vanderbilt and Auburn and marks more wins over SEC foes than those two teams had combined last season.
