Tulane Classic Canceled, Trojans to Begin Preparations for Conference Play

Little Rock next hits the court on Dec. 30 at Georgia State

NEW ORLEANS – Little Rock will have to wait a little longer for its next women's basketball game. The Trojans' trip to New Orleans for the Tulane Classic has been canceled due to multiple positive cases of COVID-19 within the Tulane program.

As a result, Tulane has temporarily shut down its women's basketball program and was forced to cancel the four-team tournament that included Little Rock, Tulane, Bradley and Texas Southern. Little Rock was scheduled to open play in New Orleans against Bradley, a team that reached the NCAA Tournament last season.

Now the Trojans will now focus their efforts on rebounding from the influenza that forced the cancelation of the Alabama game and preparing for the start of conference play on Dec. 30. No make-up games are expected to be scheduled.

Little Rock (5-5) finished non-conference play with a .500 mark that included two wins over Southeastern Conference teams and will enter its final season of Sun Belt Conference play on the road on Dec. 30 with a game at Georgia State.

The Maroon and Silver will wrap up its Sun Belt tenure after this season and move to the Ohio Valley Conference on July 1, 2022.
