FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Little Rock's
Cameron Jackson, the 2021 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, started the 2021-22 indoor season in the starting blocks alongside seven sprinters from Arkansas, TCU and Texas A&M. Less than seven seconds later, those runners were staring at the Little Rock insignia on the back of Jackson's jersey.

Jackson was in mid-season form Friday as he won the 60m dash at the Woo Pig Classic Friday at the Tyson Indoor Track Center, running 6.74 as he claimed gold in a blink of an eye. His time was just 0.02 shy of his personal best, a mark that ranks third in school history.

Also in the 60m dash,
Taveion Neal made a lasting impression in his collegiate debut as he ran 6.81 to finish sixth. His time ranks eighth-best in school history.
Troy McKnight also posted a personal-best time in the event as he placed 6.84 to finish ninth, posting a time that ranks 10
th in school history.

While Jackson was resuming where he left off,
Hunter Johnson was just getting started. Johnson, a true freshman from Pearcy, broke a nearly 14-year old school record in the pole vault as he cleared 15-5 (4.70m) to place sixth. His mark surpassed Heath Morphew's previous record mark of 14-9 (4.45m) set back in 2008.

Breya Clark joined Jackson in resuming where she left off as her personal best high jump mark of 5-5 (1.65m) ranks second in school history as she placed fourth, leading a contingent of four Trojans placing in the top eight.
Rondaishia McNeal cleared 5-3 (1.60m) to place fifth while
Jayden Gilbert followed in sixth, jumping 5-1 (1.55m) and
Brenna Harris tied her career-best mark of 5-1 (1.55m) to place eighth.

Landri Shreier followed in Johnson's lead by making a mark in her first collegiate competition. The freshman from Midlothian, Texas led Little Rock with a time of 7.80 in the 60m dash to place 15
th, recording a mark that ranks tied for seventh in school history. Freshman
Zoa Adams followed in 16
th with a time of 7.83 (7.824) while
Teresa Thomas ran a personal best time of 7.83 (7.829) to place 17
th.

Thomas also led off the 4x400m relay squad that ran 3:52.72, ranking tied for ninth-fastest in school history. She was joined by
Alexia Allen,
Zoa Adams and
Helensia Green in the handoff order.

Little Rock's throwers will open the season Saturday at the Crimson & Gold Invitational hosted by Pittsburg State in Kansas with action beginning at Noon.
