Five Things to Know
- Welcome to the Jack
Opposing teams may not want to hear that phrase as Little Rock is 3-1 so far at home this season with the only loss being a close battle against Missouri State, a team fresh off back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances.
- Snap the Streak on Showdown Saturday
Little Rock enters Saturday's game looking to snap a three-game losing streak. That includes a 65-50 loss at No. 17/15 Texas A&M after Little Rock cut the Aggie lead to single digits in the fourth quarter, prompting a timeout by the Aggies.
- Extend the Streak on Showdown Saturday
No we aren't contradicting ourselves. A win on Saturday would mark the third consecutive win over Central Arkansas in the series history between Little Rock and UCA. It would also mark the third win over the Sugar Bears in three tries in the modern history of the Trojans program.
- Top 80 RPI
It comes as no surprise that in the early season RPI ratings (as released by WarrenNolan.com), Little Rock is ranked in the top 80 nationally and second in the Sun Belt. Trailing only No. 22 UT Arlington, Little Rock is ranked 79th in the most recent RPI ranking of all 344 Division I programs. Texas State ranks third in the league, coming in at 98th. Central Arkansas ranks at No. 255.
- Limit the Mistakes
With an average of just 15.1 turnovers per game, Little Rock is in the top tenth in the nation - ranking 87th overall - in the fewest turnovers it is committing per game. That also includes an 19.0% turnover rate, a mark that ranks 124th in the country. The turnover rate is the percentage of plays where a turnover is committed. Both of those statistical numbers dropped AFTER playing at No. 17/15 Texas A&M.
