Trojans in the Pros Update – March 25

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Former Little Rock basketball player Yanina Inkina led a group of former Trojans in the professional ranks over the past week.

Yanina Inkina (6-2/F, graduated '19, plays in Belarus) led Gorizont to a victory over the closely-ranked Gomel (5-19) crushing them 120-36 in the Belarusian Premier League last Sunday. Inkina was MVP of the game. She recorded a double-double by scoring 34 points and getting 10 rebounds. Inkina also added 5 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only her second season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Gorizont Minsk (20-1) is placed first in the Premier League. It was her team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Inkina has relatively good stats this season 14.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg and 3.2 apg.

Shanity James (6-1/C, graduated '16, plays pro in Sweden) could not help Alvik Basket (20-2) in their last game. Despite her performance the league leader Alvik Basket was defeated, 87-67, on the road by Visby Ladies. James had a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 20 rebounds. She also added two blocks in 38 minutes. It was Alvik Basket's first loss after three consecutive victories. The regular season already ended with James averaging 14.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 2.5 apg in 17 games she played so far.
