BEAUMONT, Texas – Little Rock placed three players on the Lamar Invitational All-Tournament Team with senior
Laura Jansen receiving her second MVP accolade of the season.
The senior Jansen was joined by
Leigh Maher and
Nedima Kamberovic on the all-tournament team as Little Rock claimed the tournament title with three consecutive straight-set wins over the weekend.
Jansen led the Trojans with 36 kills (4.00 per set) and 31 digs (3.44 per set) while registering eight total blocks (three solo) and four aces over the weekend.
Maher joined Jansen in co-leading the team with 31 digs (3.44 per set) while serving up five aces (0.56 per set) and adding eight assists. This marks her first all-tournament honor of the season and Little Rock career.
Kamberovic was recognized after hitting a team-best .352 as she put down 23 kills with just four errors on the weekend on 54 attempts. She added four blocks and four digs to her effort.
Little Rock won the tournament title – it's second tournament title of the season – after dispatching of Northwestern State, Lamar and Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a trio of 3-0 wins. The Trojans head to the Louisiana Tech Invitational starting next Thursday and are scheduled to face Louisiana Tech, New Orleans and Southern.
