RUSTON, La. – Little Rock served up a season-high 11 aces, had five players hit over .400 and hit the sixth-highest percentage as a team in the rally scoring era in a 3-0 win over Southern Thursday at the Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston.

Set scores were 25-9, 25-10 and 25-9 as the win opened up play at the Louisiana Tech Invitational.

The Trojans (7-3) hit a dominant .474 hitting percentage in the match, marking the sixth-best team hitting percentage in the rally scoring era at Little Rock. In all, the Trojans had five players that hit over .400 in the match. Southern (0-4) hit .028 as a team.

This marks the second consecutive match that Little Rock has reached double digits in aces and the first time this season the Trojans did not allow a service ace from their opponent.

Zanobia Willis stood out, posting career highs in kills (10) and hitting percentage (.667) while leading all players in blocks (4).

Laura Jansen led all players with 14 kills and hit .522 while serving up a season-high three aces. She had six kills in the first set alone while no Southern player had more than four kills in the entire match.

Action in the LA Tech Invitational resumes on Friday at Noon when Little Rock will face New Orleans.
