CHARLESTON, Ill. – Zanobia Willis hit .500 and put down eight kills but Little Rock dropped a 3-0 decision at Eastern Illinois Saturday afternoon at Lantz Arena.
Little Rock hit .194 – improved over Friday's performance – but it wasn't enough to stop a .323 mark out of the Panthers. Kaitlyn Flynn again proved to be an unstoppable force for EIU (10-8, 4-1 Ohio Valley) as she put down 14 kills and hit .370.
The Trojans (3-14, 0-4) again stumbled from the serve with eight service errors and no aces to their credit. Those serving woes were part of 27 unforced errors, an improvement by almost double from a month ago.
Willis led Little Rock's offense and was one of five players in the Maroon and Silver with multiple blocks. Daedrianna Cail, who has been the most consistent hitter percentage-wise this season, posted a .385 mark with six kills and tied Willis for a match-high three blocks.
Little Rock's trip to the Land of Lincoln – the first for the Trojans since 2012 – continues next weekend when a two-match series at SIUE begins Friday as part of this five-match road swing.
