BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock has claimed its first weekly Ohio Valley Conference accolades for men's basketball with
Myron Gardner being named the OVC Player of the Week and
Chris Walker earning OVC Freshman of the Week honors.

Gardner averaged a double-double for the week in three games, averaging 14.7 points and 10.3 rebounds with 5.0 assists while shooting 48.4% from the floor. Gardner was also 7-of-8 from the line (87.5%) in helping the Trojans to a 1-2 week, leading Little Rock in three point shooting at 53.8%, making 7-of-13 and fueling a second half comeback against Jackson State by going 5-of-6.

The senior finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds at Central Arkansas Monday and flirted with a triple-double at East Tennessee State Thursday, scoring nine points with eight rebounds and seven assists. Gardner finished out the week scoring 23 points with nine rebounds in the win over Jackson State Sunday as he ranked among the top-25 in six statistical categories entering Sunday's competition.

Walker ranked third on the team in scoring this past week, averaging 10.3 points per game while leading Little Rock in both three pointers made (eight) and sitting second in three point percentage (47.1%). Walker had 12 points at UCA and 11 against Jackson State, hitting 5-of-8 free throws on the week while also ranking second on the team in assists (3.3) and played a key role off the bench, averaging 23.5 minutes per game.

Little Rock sits at 2-3 on the year and is about to embark on a tough four-game road stretch, beginning Wednesday at 11th-ranked Indiana before continuing on to Miami (Ohio), San Francisco and Memphis.
