AUBURN, Ala. – Little Rock shot a season-low 29.5% from the field and committed 17 turnovers Wednesday, dropping a 70-48 decision at Auburn.
Faith Lee, who led the Trojans (1-4) with 10 points and was the only player in Maroon and Silver to reach double figures, played just under 26 minutes before fouling out early in the fourth quarter.
Little Rock's shooting mark was under 25% for most of the game as Auburn (5-2) used their size and eight blocks to limit the Trojans' ability to get to the net, as well as a 48-41 rebounding advantage.
In addition to cold shooting, the Trojans committed 17 turnovers in the loss with only eight assists credited on 18 made baskets.
Auburn was led by Honesty Scott-Grayson's 20 points while Romi Levy contributed a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Jaiyah Harris-Smith scored nine points for Little Rock on 4 of 10 shooting while
Sha'nequa Henry scored a career-high eight points.
Tia Harvey and
Angelique Francis also added eight points each.
Mesi Triplett grabbed a career-high nine rebounds to lead the Trojans on the boards while Harris-Smith added seven.
Little Rock returns to action on Saturday when the Trojans will play at Central Arkansas in the Governor's I-40 Showdown presented by Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield in Conway, Arkansas. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will air live on ESPN+ and on the Little Rock Sports Network (920 AM The Sports Animal).
