BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Little Rock forward
Faith Lee was recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference Tuesday as she was named the league's Co-Freshman of the Week, splitting the honor with Southeast Missouri's Alecia Doyle.
Â
Lee shot nearly 59% from the field last week as Little Rock toppled a Southeastern Conference team for the third straight year by shutting down Texas A&M in a 42-38 win at the Jack Stephens Center. Her 58.8% mark from the field was the fourth-best among all OVC players last week as she averaged 10.0 points per game. Lee averaged 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game as the Trojans split the week's action, leading Little Rock at Western Kentucky Sunday afternoon with a game-high 12 points.
Â
This marks the first weekly honor Lee has won in her career and the second for the Trojans so far this season.
Jaiyah Harris-Smith was named the league's Newcomer of the Week on Nov. 15.
Â
Little Rock returns to action Thursday evening when the Trojans play at Alabama. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. on the SEC Network.
