LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Fresh off a dramatic win over UT Martin, Little Rock's women's basketball team looks to go 2-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play when the Trojans play at Tennessee State Saturday afternoon in Nashville.
Â
The game will air live on ESPN+ with Will Brown (play-by-play) and Alexis Pierce (analyst) on the broadcast while Trey Schaap will call the action to fans in the Natural State on the Little Rock Sports Network (920 AM).
Â
Series History
- This will be just the second all-time meeting between the Trojans and the Lady Tigers in a series that dates back to the 2002-03 season. Little Rock leads the all-time series, 1-0.

- Even after Saturday's game, the two teams will have only ever met in cities that are home to state capitals.

Five Things to Know
- Can the Trojans Make It Two?
Little Rock has a chance Saturday to do something it hasn't done in several years - start off 2-0 in league play. That is something no one on the current Trojan roster has achieved and something Little Rock has not done since the 2018-19 season when the Maroon and Silver opened up Sun Belt Conference play with wins over ULM (63-44) and Louisiana (62-48).
- Viva NashVegas
Little Rock doesn't have an extensive history in the city of Nashville but looks fondly on what history it has compiled. The Trojans are undefeated in capital city, beating Vanderbilt in the Music City last season with a commanding 56-40 win.
- She's Back!
Trojan fans were treated to a sight for sore eyes on Dec. 29 when Sali Kourouma entered the game following the first media timeout. That marked Kourouma's first appearance in a game this season after she missed the entirety of the non-conference schedule after being unable to obtain her visa to enter the United States from her native Mali. Kourouma, whose 18.4 ppg last year ranks third in school history in a single season, scored a game-high 14 points and grabbed five rebounds in her season opener.
- Trojans Not Singing the Blues
Little Rock may be whistling a tune when it plays a team from the Music City but it certainly won't be the blues. That is because the Trojans are undefeated all-time against teams from Nashville, having gone 2-0 in the program's history against Vanderbilt and having claimed an 80-63 win over Tennessee State in 2002. Little Rock has never faced Belmont or Lipscomb.
- Little Rock vs. HBCUs
While Little Rock doesn't have an extensive history against Tennessee State, facing an HBCU (Historically Black College/University) is nothing new to the Trojans. Little Rock is 26-18 all-time against HBCU programs and Saturday's game will mark the second different HBCU team the Trojans will face this season after a 60-56 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff to open the season.
