PITTSBURG, Kan. – Gabby Ayiteyfio posted the second-best pentathlon score in school history and
Jayden Gilbert posted the third-best score as the indoor season got underway for the Trojans at the Boo Rogers Combined Events Friday.

Ayiteyfio tallied 3,404 points, more than 150 points better than her previous best mark, as she finished ninth overall in the competition. That mark ranks second in school history, followed by the 2,669 points that Gilbert scored in the meet. Gilbert's mark ranks third in school history as she finished 26
th in the meet.

To reach those marks, Ayiteyfio ran the fifth-fastest 60m hurdles time (9.20) in school history while Gilbert's time of 9.77 ranks seventh-fastest. In the high jump, Gilbert led the field with a mark of 5-5 (1.65m), a height that ranks third in school history while Ayiteyfio's height of 5-2.5 (1.59m) ranks tied for ninth in school history. Ayiteyfio also recorded the 10
th-best long jump mark in school history with a leap of 17-9 (5.41m).

Through four events in the men's heptathlon,
Matthew Fox is sitting in ninth place with 2,835 points to his credit while
Ethan Sorrels has 2,672 points to put himself in 14
th place. Sorrels' height of 6-6 (1.98m) ranks fifth in school history while Fox cleared 5-9.75 (1.77m) to post the 10
th-best mark in school history.

The Boo Rogers Combined Events wraps up Saturday morning with the final three events in the heptathlon taking place before the Crimson & Gold Invitational gets underway with
Dion Murombe in the long jump.
