BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Ryan Curington recorded the second-best long jump in school history and claimed the bronze medal Monday, leading Little Rock on the first day of the Sun Belt Indoor Championships at the CrossPlex in Birmingham.

The junior's mark of 24-4.25 (7.42m) ranks second in school history and put him on the podium, leading a quartet of scorers for the Maroon and Silver.

Hunter Johnson recorded a new school record in the pole vault as the freshman cleared 15-5.57 (4.72m), besting his previous record mark by nearly an inch. His mark placed him eighth, scoring a point in his first career conference championship meet.

Isaiah Parker posted a big throw in the men's weight throw as his mark of 55-3.75 (16.86m), scoring four points for the Trojans as he recorded a fifth-place finish.

Meanwhile on the women's side,
Mia Dunning posted a seventh-place finish with a throw of 57-6.25 (17.53m) as she put the women's team on the board, scoring two points.
Alison Stephens posted the second-best throw in school history and recorded a new career-best mark, throwing 53-4.25 (16.26m) as she placed 14
th.

On the track,
Spencer Cardinal finished eighth as he ran 15:01.12. This extends his streak of four consecutive Sun Belt Championship meets in which he has scored.

Troy McKnight raced to a sixth-place finish in the prelims of the 60m dash as his time of 6.83 advanced him to Tuesday's finals.

Landri Schreier etched her name into the Little Rock record books on two occasions Monday. Her time of 7.74 in the 60m qualifying round ranks sixth in school history while her 200m time of 25.35 ranks ninth in school history.

Action on the final day of the Sun Belt Indoor Championships begins at 9 a.m. with multi events with field events starting at 11 a.m. Running events and the ESPN+ broadcast will start at 2:30 p.m.
