LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock head women's basketball coach
Joe Foley announced Wednesday that Mesi Triplett, originally a Troy signee in November, is now joining Little Rock's Team as its newest signee after inking her National Letter of Intent.
Â
She played last season at St. Petersburg College but only saw action in three games before an injury sidelined what was building to be a standout season. In just those three games, Triplett averaged eight points and eight rebounds.
Â
Triplett was granted her full release from Troy, allowing her to sign with legendary and Hall of Fame coach
Joe Foley, who will enter the 2022-23 season with the third-highest career win total (833 career wins) of any active Division I coach.
Â
"We are very excited to have Mesi become a Trojan," Foley said. "She is a very versatile player that can be a force on both the defensive and offensive ends of the court with her size and athleticism. Mesi plays with enthusiasm and intensity, and we are looking forward to her addition to our team."
Â
Triplett headed to St. Petersburg College after an impressive high school career at West Oak Academy in Orlando, Florida. She guided her team to a state championship in 2019 when she led her team in blocks per game (5.4) and rebounds per game (9.4). She finished her career as her school's all-time leader in blocked shots. Triplett was named a top-20 post player out of central Florida and originally signed with Louisiana Tech before opting for St. Petersburg College.
Â
She joins Little Rock's Team this fall as a sophomore. Triplett will join Faith Lee and Jayla Brooks as the newest members of Little Rock's Team.
