LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Volleyball Coach
Van Compton announced her program's 2022 schedule, the team's initial slate in the Ohio Valley Conference that features 10 home matches and 11 of 21 opponents that posted a winning record last fall.

The legendary Coach Compton, who remains the Sun Belt's all-time winningest volleyball coach, will enter her 35
th year as head coach at Little Rock this season and will bring her 625 career wins as a head coach to the Ohio Valley Conference this season.

Her team's 2022 schedule features 10 home matches highlighted by a Governor's I-40 Showdown against Central Arkansas on Sept. 27, three opponents that advanced to the postseason last year as well as three opponents that won 20 or more games last season. Of Little Rock's 21 opponents on the docket, 11 posted winning records and 11 recorded 15 or more wins.

The 2022 season gets underway when Little Rock heads to Jonesboro for the A-State Invitational on Aug. 26-27 where the Trojans will face Saint Louis (Aug. 26) and Mississippi Valley State (Aug. 26) before facing Arkansas State (Aug. 27). That match between two former Sun Belt foes will extend an in-state rivalry that dates back to 1975.

Little Rock heads to Alabama for the Blazer Invitational (Sept. 2-3) with matches set against Jackson State and Samford on Sept. 2 before facing host UAB on Sept. 3.

The Trojans look to register their second consecutive win over the Razorbacks on Sept. 9 when Little Rock competes in the Arkansas Invitational. Little Rock claimed a 3-2 win over the Hogs last season in Fayetteville. The Trojans will also face FIU (Sept. 9) and Colorado (Sept. 10) in the two-day tournament at Barnhill Arena.

A trip to Memphis takes place on Sept. 16-17 when Little Rock will take part in the Tiger Brawl with matches against Central Arkansas and UA-Pine Bluff on Sept. 16 before facing Memphis on Sept. 17.

The home schedule gets underway on Sept. 23 when Little Rock also begins Ohio Valley Conference play as UT Martin visits the Jack Stephens Center. The OVC schedule features 18 conference games in all with most matches on Fridays and Saturdays against a single opponent.

Little Rock's three-match homestand starts with the UT Martin weekend and wraps up the following Tuesday, Sept. 27 as Central Arkansas returns to the Jack Stephens Center for the first time since 2019 as part of the Governor's I-40 Showdown presented by Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The Trojans will the play five consecutive matches on the road, traveling to Eastern Illinois (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1) and SIUE (Oct. 7-8) before wrapping up the road swing at Southeast Missouri on Oct. 10.

That brings about a five-match homestand at the Jack Stephens Center starting with a double-dip against Morehead State on Oct. 14-15 before Southeast Missouri visits the Capital City on Oct. 18. Southern Indiana, also newcomers to the OVC alongside Little Rock, will visit the Jack Stephens Center on Oct. 21-22.

The Maroon and Silver will travel to Tennessee Tech on Oct. 28-29 before wrapping up the home schedule on Nov. 4-5 when OVC newcomer Lindendwood visits Little Rock. The Trojans will wrap up the regular season on Nov. 11-12 with a pair of matches at Tennessee State.

The Ohio Valley Conference Tournament will be hosted on-campus at the regular season champion and will take place over three days between Nov. 17-21.
