LEXINGTON, Ky. – Little Rock's Volleyball program was honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Tuesday as it received its 17
th AVCA Team Academic Award Tuesday. The Trojans were honored for the fifth consecutive year for their academic achievements.

The award, bestowed for the team's academic achievements during the 2021-22 academic year, marks the 12
th time in 13 years the Trojans have been recognized for their scholarly achievements. Initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, teams are honored if they maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Little Rock first earned the team honor for the 1997-98 academic year.

Little Rock is one of 212 Division I volleyball programs to receive the team academic award and one of only two programs (along with UCA) in the state of Arkansas to be recognized. No other team in the Natural State has received as many AVCA Academic Award as Little Rock's Team.

The Trojans once again led the Sun Belt by receiving their 17
th AVCA Team Academic Award and were one of seven Sun Belt schools to be recognized. Troy, with nine team academic awards to its credit, follows Little Rock.

Now a member of the Ohio Valley Conference as of July 1, Little Rock joins a league with much more sustained academic success. The OVC had seven teams honored by the AVCA with four of those teams having received 10 or more team academic awards in their history. Morehead State claimed their 24
th overall award while Southeast Missouri received their 21
st. Both of those programs were recognized this year for the 14
th consecutive season.
