Former Little Rock Trojan Taylor Lindberg Signs New Professional Contract

Lindberg to begin fourth professional season, joining team in Switzerland

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Taylor Lindberg, a four-year letterwinner for Little Rock Volleyball that ranks second in program history in assists, recently signed a contract with Sm'Aesch Pfeffingen in Switzerland, securing her fourth season of professional volleyball.

The former Trojan setter is making a move to Switzerland's top league (LNA) and will be one of three Americans on the Sm'Aesch roster alongside former Hawai'I opposite hitter Nikki Taylor and former Pepperdine middle blocker Tarah Wylie.

"Taylor is a very athletic, energetic player," said Sm'Aesch Head Coach Timo Lippuner. "She is very fast and explosive. And that carries over to her personality as well. She can carry the whole team along. We are very happy to welcome her to Aesch!"

Lindberg played for the Trojans from 2015 to 2018 and finished her career with 3,064 assists, the second-most in program history. Her 1,033 assists in 2017 ranks ninth-most in a single season in the rally scoring era at Little Rock.

Sm'Aesch Pfeffingen finished second out of 10 teams last year with a 14-4 mark on the year, advancing to the championship before falling to NUC, 3-1.

The LNA season runs from October to February before the playoffs begin but the team will take a break from that slate for the CEV European Challenge Cup, which begins in November. In the CEV European Challenge Cup, Sm'Aesch's first match will be against Panathinaikos Athens, the same organization that Little Rock alumna Chastity Reed competes for in women's basketball.

Lindberg completed her third season of professional volleyball last year as she played for a team in Geneva, Switzerland. Her first two seasons of professional volleyball saw her playing for a team in Finland.

Sm'Aesch Pfeffingen, located approximately 10 mintues outside of Basel, Switzerland, will begin their 2022-23 season on Oct. 22 against VFM. Sm'Aesch is known for streaming most, if not all, of their matches on YouTube. Visit their website for more information.
