Three Things to Know
- When Offense Meets Defense, You've Got to #OVCit
As Little Rock prepares to host UT Martin in a two-game series this weekend at the Jack Stephens Center, it will mark the battle of the league's best defense hosting the league's top offense. The Trojans lead the OVC (and rank 62nd in the nation) as they hold opponents to just a .172 hitting percentage. Meanwhile UT Martin has an OVC-best hitting mark of .198.
- Even Steven
Little Rock is "Even Steven" when it comes to conference openers. That is because over the last 10 years, the Trojans are 5-5 when opening league play. Want to go back farther? Little Rock is 11-11 since 2000 when opening their conference schedule. All-time, the Maroon and Silver has posted a 16-16 record in league opening-matches.
- You've Got to #OVCit When it Comes to Coaching Legends
Want to play for a legendary head coach? Have we got the league for you! Of the 10 current league members, three teams have coaches who have won over 400 games over the course of their careers. That list is headed by the Queen herself, Little Rock's Van Compton, with 628 career wins. Lindenwood's Will Condon has 488 career wins to his credit while Morehead State's Jaime Gordon has 430 wins.
