Little Rock Heads to Fayetteville for Challenging Arkansas Invitational

Trojans to face FIU, Arkansas and Colorado; All three in top 130 in RPI

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Trojans will face their toughest challenge of the season yet with an in-state foe, a former conference rival and three teams in the top 130 in the RPI as Little Rock Volleyball heads to the Arkansas Invitational starting Thursday evening.
 
Little Rock (2-4) will face FIU (0-6) on Thursday at 5 p.m. before facing host Arkansas (4-1) on Friday at 10 a.m. and then will wrap up the weekend by facing Colorado (5-0) on Friday at 5 p.m. Friday's match against the host Razorbacks will be on SECN+ while all matches will have live stats available online or on the LR Trojans app.

 Three Things to Know
  1. Can History Repeat Itself?
    And it would be historic. Last season, Little Rock traveled to Fayetteville and recorded a 3-2 win over the host Razorbacks to claim the Arkansas Classic title. A repeat title in Fayetteville would take an historic weekend of play by this young Trojan squad with Arkansas (No. 44), Colorado (No. 89) and FIU (No. 127) all ranked in the top 130 of last year's final RPI.
  2. We Meet Again
    When Little Rock faces FIU on Sept. 8 in Fayetteville, two old foes will face off one more time. The Trojans and the Panthers, both of which have moved on to better homes, were once Sun Belt Conference rivals. This year's meeting, now outside of Sun Belt play, will mark the 26th meeting between the two programs with Little Rock holding a 14-11 lead in the all-time series over FIU.
  3. Serve It Up
    The Trojans enter this weekend's action sporting one of the nation's best serving game as the Maroon and Silver rank 30th in the nation with 46 total service aces and 39th in the nation with 2.09 aces per set so far this season. Both of those marks rank second in the OVC behind UT Martin (57 aces, 2.11 aces/set).
