LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock women's basketball hits the road for its first full weekend of Ohio Valley Conference games away from home starting with a Thursday night tilt at Southern Indiana.

The Trojans (7-8, 4-0 OVC) and the Screaming Eagles (8-7, 2-2) meet for the first time in program history with a 5 p.m. CT tip-off in Evansville on Thursday evening. Little Rock and Southern Indiana are two of the newest programs in the league. The Maroon and Silver has one split weekend in the books with this weekend being the first OVC weekend with back-to-back road games.

Jevin Redman (play-by-play) and John Morris (analyst) will call the action live on ESPN+ while fans back in Little Rock can head the broadcast with Trey Schaap on the Little Rock Sports Network (920 AM The Sports Animal).

Series History
  • This is the first time the two teams will meet on the hardwood.
  • Little Rock and Southern Indiana are both new to the OVC this season.
  • The Trojans are 1-2 all-time against teams from the Hoosier State.

Five Things to Know
  1. I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends
When you need a hand on offense, just look to your defense. On Jan. 7 against SEMO, the Trojans scored 33 points off turnovers marking the most points off turnovers Little Rock has scored in a single game since scoring 35 against Florida Atlantic and ties for the seventh most in a single game in school history. That followed the 22 points off turnovers against Lindenwood on Jan. 4 putting the Trojans at 55 points scored off turnovers for the first full week of January.
  2. Creating Offense
They say the best offense is defense and when it comes to Little Rock's Team, that's certainly true. So far this season the Trojans are averaging 16.0 points off turnovers per game. And considering five of Little Rock's seven wins this season have come by 16 or fewer points, that's a game-changing dynamic. The 16.0 points off turnovers per game Little Rock is averaging this season ranks 12th in school history.
  3. They've Never OVCeen It
Since the 2009-10 season, the OVC has never seen a defense so strong that it held opponents to less than 56.5 ppg. Even if you expand the opposing scoring mark to less than 60.0 ppg, this year's Little Rock team is just one of 12 in the OVC since the 2009-10 campaign to achieve that feat. While only 11 other OVC teams have done that, this season marks the 12th time in the past 13 years the Trojans have held opponents to less than 60.0 ppg.
  4. One of 19
Jaiyah Harris-Smith is quickly becoming one of the nation's most impactful underclassmen. With 5.3 assists per game entering this contest, she is one of just 19 underclassmen (freshmen and sophomores) in the country averaging over 4.5 apg. When you factor in her ability to rebound, the list grows considerably shorter. Harris-Smith is one of just three underclassmen in the country with at least 6.0 rebounds per game and 4.5 assists per game and one of eight players overall in all of Division I to reach both of those averages. See the full list on Page 5.
  5. Charge It
Little Rock's defense is not a cash-operating group. The Trojans have drawn 28 charges through 15 games so far this year, averaging 1.87 charges drawn per game. Little Rock came out of the gate with its stingy defense, drawing five charges in the season-opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 10. That's the most in a single game in recent memory. Last year, the Trojans drew four charges at South Alabama in a 74-52 win in Mobile.
